Health enthusiast and an Influencer

Hi,

I am Laleh,

I am passionate about combining chiropractic and lifestyle changes, including yoga and nutrition, to strive for optimal wellness and slow down the aging process.

For many years, I dealt with chronic mid back pain, fatigue and body dysmorphia that not only stopped me from functioning at my best, but it also emotionally drained me from wanting to live a healthy life. I decided to try Chiropractic when I was in university and saw almost immediate results for my musculoskeletal pain and once I felt better physically I had more will to take on a  mind, body, soul approach for my health and the benefits snowballed from that point on.

Healthy living is my passion.

I combine chiropractic care, acupuncture, anti-aging research, nutrition and condition specific yoga to create holistic plans for my patients. I have seen the benefits of implementing healthy routines first-hand. The impact that it has had on my life and those around me has been exponential, and it is something I feel privileged to share every day.

MY APPROACH

Intracellular Anti-Aging, staying young beyond the skin.

Most people take care of their skin to prevent signs of  aging, but our cells are constantly dividing with a finite number of cell divisions giving it a lifespan. In addition to natural aging, environmental  and musculoskeletal stressors play a role in speeding up the process. My goal is preventing disease, degeneration and slowing down aging from the inside out.  My approach is three fold to achieve this:

  • Chiropractic care: Just as skin care, such as regular moisturizing, is needed for healthy skin, your joints and muscles need regular care with proper exercise and chiropractic care.

The spine hosts both parasympathetic and sympathetic nerve plexi (groups of nerves).  My treatments focus on allowing the body to restore and recover through stimulation of the parasympathetic nervous  system (restoration through rest and digest). This speeds up the healing response through hormonal, organ and muscular health.

In addition,  cartilage degeneration is part of natural aging, but it is quicker when there is unequal stress on the joint. By performing adjustments, soft tissue techniques & fascia work, proper alignment is restored which helps to balance the stresses on the joint and increase muscle efficiency through improved joint movement patterns.

Moreover, poor postural habits common in today’s society, lead to reduced range of motion, stiffness and loss of strength. In addition to specific strength training program, this can be offset by stimulating motor nerve connections in the muscles manually in order to reset the cortical connections with the brain and restore optimal muscle activation and function to the muscle.

  • Nutrition:  As we age with each decade various nutrients decline in production and absorption which ages the body. In addition, just like a sliced apple oxidizes when it meets oxygen,  our body experiences oxidation processes which cause free radicals through environmental toxins, ingested toxins and stress. Although, some of this process is inevitable and is referred to as natural aging, the process can be slowed down by providing the body with the right antioxidants that quench the free radicals from further damage.

  • Yoga: I also add yoga as a means of connecting breath with movement which also activates the parasympathetic system, provides calm and restoration to the body. In addition, proper breathing is key physically for core activation and mentally for a mindful practice. I encourage, yoga because it has personally been  major component of my own recovery, but I for all safe forms of exercise and rehabilitation.

Aging affects  your skin, your organs, and your joints and muscles – these areas maintain a symbiotic relationship and my goal is to slow this process of aging.
